The History of Vertical Caving

$10.00

35 minutes. Produced in 1992/1999.

The "History of Vertical Caving" is about the history, the techniques, and the cavers who were involved in the development of vertical caving in the United States. This program features such cavers as Bill Cuddington who has been running the vertical sessions at NSS Conventions for many many years; John Cole, inventor of the Rack; Charlie Gibbs and the Gibbs Ascender, and Jim Gossett who developed the Gossett Box.

Also included are cuts from the Pittsburgh Grotto's 16 mm movies made in 1955, which feature School House Cave. And thanks go to the NSS for the many old slides which contain so much history.

The narration for this program is by Bob Handley
